January is here again, the boiler kicks in every 5 minutes and there’s another cold snap on the way. What better time to switch to a supplier who promises to stay competitive AND reward the school for each month you stay with them?
I moved to Utility Warehouse back in the summer. I pay less each month and the changeover couldn’t have been simpler. I used to be quite principled about checking the comparison websites and always found that my last supplier (Atlantic) came out on top, but I had never heard of UW.
You’ll never find them on those sites because they don’t give the big commission payouts, instead they give a small slice to the charities who promote them, in our case the PTA. Up to 5% of your monthly spend.
Imagine what we could raise if we all switched gas, electric, phone and broadband.
I didn’t do a price comparison of my own, I just trusted the lady who introduced me, plus a friend who’s been with them for ten years plus.
I introduced my Mum to UW and I have to admit, I wasn’t principled enough to put her through the school account, I gave her my details. She took four services (after chatting to the 0800 help line she reckoned they undercut her competition by up to 25%), so now I get 2% off my bill each month – 0.5% for each service – for as long as she remains a customer.
And the best thing about taking four services? If one of those is phone you get free 24×7 local and national calls, plus free international calls to a range of countries.
Why not give them a ring and discuss the options. I can honestly say they are not at all pushy. I can’t move my broadband to them because of the web hosting I need for sites like this one, but there was no hard sell to convince me otherwise.

Still not convinced? There’s no contract, so if you think you’ve made a mistake even 2 weeks down the line, you can switch again!
